Frequently Asked Questions

Am I going to have any pain?

At Renova Foot and Ankle, we do everything we can to keep the time and discomfort of recovery to a minimum. Patients who receive minimally invasive Tenex Health TX surgery for plantar faciitis and Achillies tendinitis spend about two to six weeks in recovery. Those who receive Shockwave therapy for the same conditions can be back on their feet in just a few days. As long as patients adhere to the doctor’s recovery recommendations, patients don’t need to worry about an unpleasant post-operative experience.

Do you take workers' comp?

Renova doctors gladly accept workers’ compensation. In fact, the doctors and staff at Renova will help these patients work through the application process so that they can be processed quickly and efficiently.

How long do the procedures take?

While time varies among procedures, many of the treatments that we offer take half an hour or less. Tenex Health TX, the minimally invasive procedure that we use to treat plantar faciitis and Achilles tendinitis, usually takes no more than 20 minutes. Similarly, Shockwave Therapy usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes and Laser therapy for fungal nails takes just a few minutes to complete.

Will I have to stay overnight?

All procedures performed at Renova Foot and Ankle are outpatient procedures, meaning that you do not need an overnight stay and can return home almost immediately following surgery.

Do I need someone to drive me home?

Your surgeon will recommend that you have a family member or friend escort you home after the procedure, mainly because the effects of the anesthesia will still be present after surgery. However, many patients are allowed to return to driving a vehicle the next day if they are comfortable, and their physician believes that they can operate the vehicle safely.
